Alfredo Pizarro-Franco was driving the opposite way of traffic along Hanover Street when he blew through the Mifflin Street intersection without stopping — slamming into the driver's side door of an SUV around 8:30 p.m., on Sunday, July 14, city police detailed in the release.
He was taken to Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the police release.
Investigators learned that Pizarro-Franco had been going in the wrong direction by "speaking with parties involved, obtaining witness statements, and viewing video of the accident," as stated by police.
The SUV’s driver was unharmed and since they were "determined to have no contributing factor" to the fatal crash they were not charged.
Alfredo was a dad, according to social media.
The mother of his children wrote the following in a Facebook post which has been translated into English:
"Rest in peace Alfredo Pizarro Franco despite everything you are the father of my 3 children who are the most I love and thank you I have them"
